On 28 June 2012 BlueGem L.P. announced the acquisition of Enotria Group Limited, the UK’s leading wholesale trade wine specialist, in partnership with its management team in a secondary buyout from ISIS Equity Partners.
Enotria’s dynamic wine portfolio has evolved from its Italian Old World roots into an outstanding global wine list, covering 1,600 wines from over 260 producers and combining Old and New World wines which include a number of iconic names. The company is widely regarded by the industry as one of the UK’s top suppliers with a customer base that includes Michelin starred restaurants, owner-operated establishments, high profile restaurant chains, and leading retailers. Enotria has a sales force of over 40 sales personnel throughout the UK. The company employs 171 people and has annual sales in excess of 3.2 million 9L cases of wine – over 100,000 bottles every day. BlueGem is backing the incumbent management team to continue their strategy of industry leading growth through both organic initiatives and acquisitions. |
