Founded in 1954 by the
Bertello family, Olicar is the leading independent Italian company
operating in the energy facility management business in Italy.
Olicar is an Energy Services Company (ESCO) recognised by the Energy
and Gas Authority and provides integrated solutions to public institutions
and private clients enabling cost savings while increasing environmental
compliance and efficiency.
Starting from its energy facility management core business,
Olicar has expanded its business significantly and it is now
active also in the production of energy from renewable sources
(solar, wind and biomass) and in the engineering and construction
of state-of-the-art heating infrastructures for healthcare facilities.
Olicar has a contract portfolio of over € 900 million with
an average duration of around 15 years.
The company has over 200 employees and in 2008 had consolidated
revenues of around € 66 million, with an EBITDA margin of
around 20%.
On June 8 2007, BlueGem acquired a 49.9% stake in Olicar S.p.A.
The remaining 50.1% stake is still owned by the founding Bertello
family.
